Shannon Okey, aka Knitgrrl, has written or co-authored over ten knitting- and crafts-related books and contributed to many more. She is the founder of Stitch Cooperative and the editor of UK-based print knitting magazine Yarn Forward. Okey is also a former columnist for knit.1 magazine, as well as the owner of Knitgrrl Studio (a studio/learning space and retail shop in Lakewood, Ohio) and one of the six “New Guard of Knitting,” as profiled in Vogue Knitting’s 25th anniversary issue in 2007.
