Kristi Porter is a knitwear designer, author, teacher and technical editor. Her designs have been featured in Knit Wit, the Knitgrrl series, the Big Girl Knits books, No Sheep for You, as well as her own books Knitting for Dogs (Simon & Schuster, 2005), Knitting Patterns for Dummies (Wiley, 2007) and the forthcoming Knitting in the Sun (Wiley, Spring 2009). She is a frequent contributor to knitty.com and has been part of the online magazine since its start in 2002.
Kristi’s eye for detail and occasional obsessive-compulsive tendencies are channeled into her work as a freelance technical editor of knitting and craft books, articles and patterns. She has worked with many publishers including Wiley, Chronicle, and Potter Craft as well as numerous independent designers.
Kristi works and teaches in La Jolla, California where she makes her home with her husband and two daughters. She’s been blogging at The Domestic Sphere since 2002.
