I am thrilled to be teaching a class with the incomparable Teva Durham, one of the outstanding artists of the knit and crochet universe. Teva, like myself, has a background in the performing arts, and we want to bring some of the creative approaches of that world to knit and crochet. Specifically, we want to inspire people to express something about their uniqueness, their essence when they embark on a project. We thought hats would be the perfect vehicle for exploring this. Think of how certain personalities were associated with a hat: John Wayne, Jacqueline Kennedy, Carmen Miranda, Sophia Loren. Think about it: if you were a hat, what would you look like?
For Part 1 of this class we have some exercises for sparking your fantasy, so you can imagine yourself as a hat. In part 2, we’ll share techniques, tips and patterns to get you started in making the hat of your fantasy. This will be a fun, educational and we hope, inspiring class that can serve you in your knit and crochet projects for a long time to come!
Sign up for Imagine Yourself as a Hat today, or check out the other classes on offer next month here.
